Should I Feel Burning in My Ear When Using Ciprodex?

Although most people do not have any problems while using Ciprodex^® (ciprofloxacin/dexamethasone), this ear drop is not free of side effects. In clinical studies, some of the most common side effects of Ciprodex included ear pain and discomfort. In most cases, reactions to this ear drop are minor and are generally easy to treat.

 

However, if pain and discomfort are severe, persistent, or worsen with continued use of Ciprodex, make sure to contact your healthcare provider. Although there have been no reported cases of an overdose of this medication, using too much Ciprodex in the ears could cause ear irritation, such as burning, discomfort, or itching.
