Ear Infection Floxin

If you have been diagnosed with an outer or middle
 ear infection, Floxin® Otic (ofloxacin otic solution) may help treat your symptoms.
 
This prescription ear drop is specifically approved to treat:
 
  • Middle ear infections (known medically as otitis media) in children with ear tubes
  • Chronic otitis media in adults and children with holes in their eardrum
  • Outer ear infections (known medically as otitis externa, or more commonly "swimmer's ear") in adults and children.
 
Floxin Otic treats ear infections by interfering with a bacterial enzyme called DNA gyrase. This enzyme is needed by the bacteria to make DNA, which is important for the bacteria to multiply.
